Objectives: To promote understanding of the Indian Knowledge System and integrate value-based education into contemporary learning for holistic and ethical development of students.
Details of the Event:
The IQAC of Smt. J. P. Shroff Arts College, in collaboration with the RUSA, Gujarat Education Department and Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat (KCG), successfully organized a National Seminar on Indian Knowledge System and Value Education in hybrid mode on 17 February 2026 at Sanskar Kendra, Valsad.
Though the Chief Guest, Dr. Kishorsinh N. Chavda, Vice Chancellor, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat, and Shri Dhaval Patel, Member of Parliament, Valsad–Dang, could not remain present due to prior commitments, they conveyed their best wishes through heartfelt messages and letters appreciating the initiative and its academic relevance. The inaugural session was graced by Shri Jitesh Patel, Ex-Vice President, BJP, Valsad District, who motivated the participants by emphasizing the importance of Indian values and cultural consciousness in education. The blessings and good wishes of Shri Kirtibhai S. Desai, Secretary, Nootan Kelavani Mandal (NKM), were also conveyed to the gathering.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Hitesh Jani, Provost, Gau Vishva Vidyapitham, Gandhinagar, who
not only connected ancient insights with modern perspectives, but also inspired us to rethink the role of Ayurveda within the broader framework of Indian Knowledge Systems. Expert sessions by Dr. Nilesh Suchak, Associate Professor, R.J. Tibrewal Commerce College, Ahmedabad and Dr. Kantibhai Gor, Ex-Vice Chancellor, Kachchh University further enriched the academic deliberations.
The seminar witnessed active participation and around 60 Paper Presentations from scholars, academicians, research scholars, and students, making it a meaningful platform for scholarly exchange and dialogue on value-based education rooted in Indian knowledge traditions.

Outcome: The seminar strengthened academic engagement with Indian Knowledge traditions, encouraged interdisciplinary research aligned with NEP 2020, and fostered value-oriented and culturally rooted perspectives among participants.
