Objective:
The workshop was organized to enhance the professional, intellectual, and personal development of faculty members. It aimed to provide deeper insights into the role of educators in nation-building, strengthen teaching-learning practices in alignment with NEP 2020, and encourage innovation, research, value-based education, and holistic growth among academicians.
Details of the Event:
A three-day Faculty Development Workshop titled “Awakening the Academicians” was conducted with Dr. Jayesh Vasantrao Deshkar, Former Pro Vice-Chancellor of VNSGU, Surat and Atmiya University, Rajkot, as the resource person. Through a series of interactive sessions, he deliberated on significant themes such as the deeper purpose of teaching, the evolving roles and responsibilities of modern teachers, student-teacher relationships, Outcome-Based Education under NEP 2020, emotional and spiritual development of educators, value-based living, global best practices in education, and the promotion of innovation and research. The sessions were highly engaging and encouraged reflection, discussion, and professional enrichment among the participants.
Number of Participants:
All the faculty members of Smt. J. P. Shroff Arts College, Shree N.K.M. School of Nursing, and Shah Khimchand Muljibhai Law College.
Outcome:
The workshop provided faculty members with renewed motivation and a broader perspective on their role as educators and mentors. Participants gained valuable insights into contemporary educational practices, outcome-based teaching, and holistic development. The program strengthened their commitment to academic excellence, innovation, ethical values, and student-centered learning, thereby contributing to their overall professional growth.
